History: Seven Wonders of Ancient Rome paragraphs due on Tuesday. Rubrics were handed out on Friday for final details. One copy will be printed, and one uploaded to Moodle. Final test on Ancient Rome on Friday - May 9.
Language arts: The final component of the World Fair project is persuasive speeches. The 6th graders will be giving their World Fair persuasive speeches (using their persuasive papers) on Wednesday and Thursday of next week (May 7 and 8). We have discussed speech DO's and DON'Ts in class. Students have been asked to practice their speeches in front of a mirror, record themselves on imovie, and give their speeches to a parent/sibling. I am certain that after hearing these speeches next week, the sixth graders will want to travel the world! :)
PE: This week in PE we will begin our fitness unit.
Science: I'm so proud of the effort that these students are putting in as they grow as scientific explorers and communicators! Now that we have a deep conceptual understanding of what energy is and what energy does, we'll be examining how we as Christians are called to use our knowledge as we work to be good stewards & restoration workers in God's world.
Spanish: We will be doing our Family Tree Presentations this week! Students present in Spanish, then field questions asked by their classmates - all in Spanish. ¡Qué divertido!
